Which tier am I in?
| Medical Compensation Contribution (MCC) |
Your tier is determined by your Medical Compensation Contribution (MCC).Your MCC is defined as the annualized base pay rate you are appointed to receive through the University and affiliated organizations. Private Practice Plan (PPP) earnings for the prior year of medical professionals at the Health Sciences Center are also included in the calculation of their MCC. The MCC does not include:
- Overtime payments
- Compensation for adjunct teaching by benefits eligible employees
- Compensation received for summer session or other vacation period employment in excess of regular salary
- Any remuneration received which is in excess of 100% of full-time equivalent for your regular position, and
- Any perquisites or bonuses or other special compensation which occur on an irregular basis

Your tier is determined using the MCC amount defined above. Choose the chart on the main Annual Enrollment page that is appropriate to your FTE status (full-time equivalent status). The MCC amounts for each FTE range have been included on the rate charts to help you determine your tier.
No special calculations need to be made.
