New Insurance ID Cards

BlueCross BlueShield has issued updated insurance ID cards to all OU members. You should receive yours at your home address this week. The new cards use your Health ID number (990+EMPL ID) as your insurance ID number and replace your existing cards. There is no change in the plan year or in your benefits. When you receive your new card, please destroy the old one.

The new Health ID is composed of your six digit university employee ID with a 990 prefix. This is the same number that is currently used on your Delta Dental ID card and it is the same number for those who have a Payflex Flexible Spending Account. Using the new Health ID number will provide consistency across plans and eliminate the need to remember another number.

You should provide a copy of the new ID card to your doctor on your next visit. This is only an ID number update. Nothing else about your coverage has changed. This does not represent any change in the plan year or in your current benefits.
